PS3 announced at E3 2006, priced at $599, immediately causes heart-attacks
I would go out on a limb here and say that almost a fair percentage of people were kind of leaning towards the PS3, and why not? It showcased some pretty impressive features. However what people were not prepared for was the price bomb that literally gave them heart attacks. Sony decided to price the PS3 at $ 599. This of course caused some panic and many people decided to wait a while for the price to drop.
