The Last of Us New Details On The ‘Infection’ Revealed

Naughty Dog has left a cryptic message saying that no one has found another type of infection in The Last of Us.

We know that the only infection in the game is something that causes infection among people due to a fungus type parasite called Cordyceps.

Creative director Neil Druckmann said that there’s a great mystery about the game which no one has identified yet. This quote is via a German site called Playfront, so the translation is a bit rough here.

“Here is a great mystery about the game that no one knows is that there is more than one kind of infection,” he said.

He also revealed that with all the game mechanics working together in harmony, players can be affected in a way that no other medium can.

“If gameplay, story and art work come together, you can affect the players in a way as to make it impossible for any other medium can be reached.”
