The Legend of Korra: Watch the Avatar Dish Out Pain in 15 Minute Gameplay Demo

Korra is quite the violent woman.

The Legend of Korra is based off of the hit animated series, which actually follows up on Avatar: The Last Airbender series. Being licensed from such a prestigious property would obviously make one sceptical but it does have Platinum Games (of Bayonetta 2, Vanquish, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and The Wonderful 101 fame) behind it. Check out the gameplay demo above which shows protagonist Korra beating down the opposition using a variety of attacks above.

The game takes place between the second and third seasons as a Chi-Blocker cuts off Korra’s bending abilities. You’ll go through the game trying to regain your mastery of the elements and at least visually, Platinum Games knows what it’s doing. The same can be said of the rapid-fire combat.

The Legend of Korra will be out in Q3/Q4 2014 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC. What are your thoughts on the above gameplay footage? Let us know in the comments.
