The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Receives New Performance Patch

Users report better frame rates in Korok Forest.

Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild hasn’t seen too much criticism since its launch – in fact, it has the third highest review score of all time on Metacritic with a 97 out of 100. That being said, frame rate troubles have cropped up every now and then.

There is finally some respite though. A new patch has been released for the game today. As per the patch notes, “Adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.”

This doesn’t really tell you what the patch does but according to users on NeoGAF, Korok Forest has a much more stable frame rate before. It was previously one of the areas where the frame rate would be less than ideal at times. The patch will begin downloading automatically if you load the game on either Wii U or Switch.
