The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wins Big at the GDC Awards

Another feather in the cap.

Posted By | On 23rd, Mar. 2018

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of the greatest games ever made. The critical reception and sales of the game have reflected that so far, as has the fact that it has won just about every major Game of the Year award there is this year, including GamingBolt’s own.

Now there’s another one the game can claim to have added to its mantle: the GDC Game of the year award for 2017. This one is a particularly major win for it, because the GDC Awards are voted on by industry veterans and developers themselves- in many ways, this is the highest honour a game can hope for, being recognized by other developers for being a masterpiece.

Breath of the Wild won other major awards at the event as well: Best Audio and Best Design. meanwhile, Horizon took home the award for Best Technology, and Cuphead got recognized for having the Best Visual Style.
