According to Nintendo of America, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, a remake of the classic Gamecube title, will be releasing on the Wii U on October 4th. Earlier, Nintendo had confirmed that it would be releasing on the same date for Europe and now it seems both versions will be launching simultaneously.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker marked a major departure from the usual Zelda trappings, presenting a non-linear quest to gather pieces of the Tri-Force while travelling at sea and featuring a cel-shaded art style that had divided the fanbase at the time. Of course, this version sees the visuals being significantly reworked to 1080p and 60 frames per second, looking outright gorgeous.

The Wind Waker HD will also feature a new Hero Mode for harder difficulty and a Tingle Bottle messaging system, in case you didn’t have enough of the little demon. Stay tuned for more details.
