The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD Comparison Shots Showcase Leap in Graphics

Cartoon Link is back with a bang.

Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma announced that there would be a special HD remake for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker releasing on the Wii U this fall.

And quite frankly, this news is awesome. Considering Wind Waker is one of the most under-rated Zelda, not to mention GameCube, games of all-time, it’s great to see Wind Waker HD being tailored for a new generation.

Even more impressive is the work that the team has done on the remake. A few comparison shots have been released just to showcase how the original matches up to the new HD version. And they are a sight to behold.

Forget a bump in visual quality: Nintendo has taken the cel-shaded style of the previous game and made it all the more better with Wind Waker HD.

Will this indeed ease the wait for the next full-fledged Legend of Zelda for the Wii U? Given the improvement in gameplay, it’ll certainly be a highly enticing distraction.
