The Messenger

Sabotage Studio’s 2D side-scrolling action title The Messenger will be receiving a significant new update today with a New Game Plus. Once you’ve completed the game fully, you can start a new playthrough with all previous unlocks enabled. However, boss HP and incoming damage will be increased.

Augmenting the game’s difficulty even further is the fact that endless New Game Plus runs are also included (a la Dark Souls). However, boss HP will continue rising, as will damage taken. Eventually, it won’t be long before you’re dead in one hit. So if you love The Messenger and want that level of challenge, New Game Plus is the way to go.

Also included in the update are a few quality of life features. These include control remapping, hints directly implemented into the map, and a visual cue when inside the underwater labyrinth. Oh, and there’s also a jukebox, letting you jam out to some of the tunes whenever you feel like it. The Messenger is available on both PC and Nintendo Switch.
