Halo The Master Chief Collection

Halo: The Master Chief Collection was a royal mess when it launched on the Xbox One last year, representing what might have been the most broken game in a year full of nothing but broken and underwhelming games. 343 Industries pledged to fix the title with updates, and they seem to be following up on that with their announced upcoming patch for the game… which will, in an absolutely amazing and sadly not ironic twist, be having a beta test, just to ensure it doesn’t inadvertently break more stuff.

343 Industries confirmed that this will be “an opt-in opportunity and the content update will only be made available to selected participants within the Xbox One Preview program, based on the highest levels of engagement with Halo: The Master Chief Collection. On Friday, January 23, participants selected will be prompted to download the content update automatically when the title is started.”

I mean…

Guys, I want to point out that the game itself never got a beta test. But a patch for it is.

So this is what modern gaming has come to.
