The Order 1886 (4)

Although the embargo for The Order: 1886 officially lifts on Thursday, French magazine JVM has gone ahead and published its review of Ready at Dawn’s highly anticipated PlayStation 4 action game. The takeaway? It’s an average game, mostly bogged down by the sheer amount of cutscenes and QTEs breaking up the pace, but it looks and sounds great, as expected, with some great atmosphere and world building.

They also confirmed that the game lasts about 7 hours on Easy Mode, meaning that it will probably be as short as the rumored 5 hour length on normal difficulty. The score tha t they gave the game came down to 15/20 (no, I don’t understand why they use the 20 point scale either), which translates to 7.5/10, which sounds about right (and is honestly right about where I am expecting most scores for the game to land).

There is no doubt that this is a well made game, but I have doubts about its legitimacy as a full priced product. The Order: 1886 launches this Friday on PS4.
