Maxis’s The Sims 4 is gearing up for some big changes tomorrow. In its latest Maxis Monthly stream, the developer confirmed that the game’s look will be changing, along with its box art. There will be new “faces” to represent the Sims now, along with a new “plumbob”.
Along with a new main menu and loading screen, The Sims 4 will receive a new Personality Quiz feature for crafting Sims. It’s essentially 10 questions (like age, what the best stories are, etc), with an option to skip the process. This will create different aspirations, skills, funds, and career (with aspirations and traits being unchangeable). This will not affect your Sim’s appearance though.
The Personality Quiz is optional, but has the potential for more nuanced stories for a Sim. Players can also look forward to over 1,000 objects in the Build and Buy Category (with many being unlocked from environments), though that number also includes items from expansion packs. PC players will get the update tomorrow, while Xbox One and PS4 players will receive Island Living, The Alexa Skill update, Freelancer, and more.
