The Surge Releasing on May 16th

Dark Souls combat meets sci-fi action.

Lords of the Fallen developer Deck 13 has finally dated its next big action RPG The Surge. It will be releasing on May 16th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

The earlier CG trailer has received its second part, showcasing some more action which is always neat. The Surge, much like Lords of the Fallen, takes inspiration from Dark Souls with its combat. The main hook here is the limb targeting system that allows you to sever enemy limbs, collecting their parts to upgrade your own suit.

The story is your typical “things going wrong in a large corporation”, leaving you fighting for survival amidst killer robots and other suited warriors.

Considering how decently Lords of the Fallen was received, it will be interesting to see how The Surge does, especially considering its sci-fi bent. Will you be picking it up in May? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more.
