Gears of War 3
Arriving in 2011, Gears of War 3 ended the (then) trilogy for Marcus Fenix and his entourage on Xbox 360. Gears is a very unique franchise as it delicately balanced dark tones with extremely bright ones. Being in a dark cave one minute showed crumbling rock effects. Followed by a realistic toned cityscape the next minute that was destroyed by a great war. Finally, into a lake of glowing, bright imulsion that flowed down like water. These transitions were a bit abrasive, yet a brave way to handle such a serious game.
