The Walking Dead: A New Frontier Looks Like An Evolution Of The Telltale Formula

Looks promising enough.

It looks like The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, the next season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead series, will be an evolution of their standard formula which has been in place ever since the original Walking Dead season came out in 2012. Basically, it looks like the entire system is now more dynamic than Telltale’s games otherwise have been- which is just as well, because the entire Telltale template was getting a bit too predictable now.

That, plus the old engine was showing some stress at the seams. Maybe an overhaul of the entire gameplay formula would do this new season, as well as Telltale games as a whole, some good. Heck, hopefully this new engine will also be utilized by Telltale’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy.

You can check out the trailer below for yourself and see what you think. I personally think this has promise- but I will reserve final judgement until I get to actually play it.
