Square Enix’s Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call isn’t your typical Final Fantasy game. Actually, it’s not even your typical DS title as it focuses on rhythmic, time-based action but what sets it apart is the inclusion of characters and tunes from across the Final Fantasy franchise. Square Enix showed off some of those tunes and characters in a new vignette series titled “Legacy of Music”, which showcases some of the tunes from Final Fantasy I to III. Check it out above.

Moogles, Chocobos, boss battles and good-old Cid to the tune of retro music – is there anything more you could want? There are 60 playable characters in the game along with songs from Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy XIII/XIII-2, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and much more. DLC is also being developed for the game so there will be more to come.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call releases on September 16th in North America and September 19th in Europe for the 3DS.
