This Is Glyph, The New VR Headset/Headphones

It seems to be an interesting concept.

While a new wave of VR products seems to be incoming this year in a big way, with especially the Facebook backed Oculus Rift, and Sony’s own VR Headset, that does not mean other companies won’t be trying their hand in an absolutely new field that is currently anybody’s for the taking, either.

At CES 2015, Avegant has announced a brand new VR product, except this is one with a difference- instead of being a bulky headset, it’s a stylish pair of glasses that are combined with what appear to be high quality headphones. You can see what it looks like above.

All of that style seems to be coming at a hefty price, though, as it appears that the device, called Glyph, will cost $599, as opposed to the $350 you can spend on an Oculus Rift headset. That said, if you do want it, and I suspect it will at least catch a lot of people’s attention, then it will be shipping out this fall to the general public. Stay tuned.
