THQ has just undergone Chapter 11 bankruptcy, auctioned off its major IPs and studios to a variety of vendors which includes Crytek, Sega, Koch Media and others and otherwise gone through the motions for disbanding the studio. Today, the publisher announced the termination of several key executives as part of the process.

“THQ Inc. terminated the employment of Brian J. Farrell as Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Jason Rubin as President of the Company, and Jason Kay as Chief Strategy Officer of the Company, each without cause and effective January 30, 2013.”

So with that, we can finally say that THQ is well and truly gone. From 1989 onwards, serving more than two decades in this business, and carrying on from one console generation to the next. It’ll be sad to see them go, but we can take comfort in that its legacy and the employees that made it special will live on forever, wherever they may go.
