Double Fine Productions founder and legendary designer Tim Schafer who’s helped bring us such classics as Grim Fandango, Full Throttle and Psychonauts, and whose studio is currently hard at work on the Kickstarter-funded Broken Age, will be announcing a new game on May 30th.

Schafer tweeted the same recently, which can be viewed below.

The reiteration that it is neither a sequel or port – along with the revelation about Schafer’s current underwear – indeed means that it will be a new game. Given how Double Fine has been experimenting heavily over the years, bringing us Stacked, Costume Quest, The Cave and now Broken Age, it remains to be seen just what kind of new game this will be.

Doesn’t make it any less exciting however.

Stay tuned for more news and details on Schafer’s latest project. One can only hope the announcement will be followed by a reveal of the same at this year’s E3.
