Titanfall Games Announced for Smartphones, “Next Year Will Be Very Big”

Titanfall 2 "will be worth the wait" according to Vince Zampella.

The partnership with Nexon and Respawn Entertainment continues as it was announced that Titanfall games are in development for iOS and Android. In fact, Respawn CEO Vince Zampella has co-founded a new studio Particle City which will head up the development of these games (the first of which won’t be a first person shooter but will take the franchise “in a new direction”). This is in addition to the free to play Titanfall title that Nexon will be bringing to Asia.

Interestingly, Zampella stated to Venture Beat that, “We continue to focus on Titanfall. Next year is going to be a very big year for Titanfall. For us, it is exciting to take this universe we created that is so extensible. In my head, there are so many things we can do with it. To be able to partner with Nexon and take this game to a whole new audience is really exciting.”

Zampella also told Polygon that with regards to Titanfall 2, “I can’t say just yet. I promise that it will be worth the wait.”

Could 2016 be the year? We can certainly hope. Stay tuned for more information as always.
