Bravely Second

A new scan for Bravely Second, the eagerly anticipated sequel to last year’s hit Nintendo 3DS exclusive JRPG Bravely Default, has confirmed that Tiz Arrior will indeed be returning in the second game. Tiz, of course, was the protagonist of the first game, so his return promises some tantalizing possibilities for the story of the game, and its relationship to the first game.

The design has definitely been updated- he seems to be a whole lot more self assured and confident now, and he almost seems to have outgrown his humble farm boy beginnings from Bravely Default. The scan seems to indicate that Tiz needs to be rescued, which means that the ending of Bravely Default is in fact a part of the plot of Bravely Second, and not just a teaser or a feeder video.

Bravely Second is due out on the Nintendo 3DS some time this year; a western release is widely anticipated to follow as well. Given the massive worldwide success that Bravely Default enjoyed, it is expected that the localization of the second game will not take as long as the localization of the first game did.

One can only hope.
