6. Final Fantasy 9 - Trance Kuja
Final Fantasy 9 is often considered the black sheep of the Final Fantasy PS1 trilogy. What it lacked in steam punk aesthetics, it made up for with a more self aware theme and a tried and tested skill system. It built up well (mostly) throughout its massive four discs of content, up until the epic last fight against antagonist Kuja. That's where it should have ended, but instead it continues on to Necron, arguably the most irrelevant and totally random last boss in any game. The Kuja fight was cool Square, so you ought to have left it at that.
