7. Mortal Kombat
Platform: PS3 & Xbox 360
Mortal Kombat 2011 is in some ways the most important entry in the long running fighting franchise. The series went downhill after some really awful games in middle/late 2000’s. Mortal Kombat 2011 not only gave life to a dying franchise but Netherrealm Studios have created the fighting game of this generation. The game had amazing value with hundreds of missions in the Challenge Tower, Tag Team matches and an extremely gory fatality system.
6. Portal 2
Platform: PS3, PC & Xbox 360
It goes without saying that anything developed by Valve is bound to be a hit. It is perhaps due to their honesty towards the fan base that has made sure they are one of the most followed video game developers around. Portal 2 boasts superior voice acting, challenging puzzles and everything that is better than the original.
5. L.A. Noire
Platform: PS3 & Xbox 360
L.A. Noire is a very important development in video games because it has taken one huge step in bridging the gap between realism and video games. Even though the game may get repetitive and start slow for some players, the last half of the game is truly engaging and uncovers some dark and unexpected secrets. If you want to take a look at how far video games have come across then you don’t need to look far. Just stop reading this review, go down your retail store and buy this superlative game from Team Bondi and Rockstar. Enough said.
4. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

To put it simply, Witcher 2 is one of the most well optimized PC games that you will come across. CdProjekt did a great job of making sure that the game runs fine on medium to high end PC’s. Easily one of the best looking games of 2011, Witcher 2 will suck you right inside a beautiful world which is filled with some of the most interesting characters you will witness. If you have a good gaming PC, you should probably try it out once you are done reading this article or if you are a consoler gamer, then worry not, Witcher 2 is scheduled to hit the Xbox 360 later this year.
