Real Racing 2
Whilst it may not be to everyone’s taste, Real Racing 2 has some of the most realistic visuals of any iPad game. The first in the series laid the groundwork, but the sequel delivered even crisper visuals. With slick gameplay and even slicker animations, Real Racing 2 manages to live up to its name.
Nature Treks: Healing With Colour
More of a nature simulator than a game, Nature Treks still delivers visuals that are almost on par with console gaming. Couple this with a relaxing vibe, and Nature Treks is a hardware pushing masterwork of accessibility. Let’s just hope more objective orientated games on iPad will start having this kind of visual quality in the future.
Mass Effect Infiltrator
Despite the recent controversy surrounding Mass Effect 3, it’s quite clear that gamers are just as infatuated with Bioware’s sci-fi universe as ever. Enter Mass Effect Infiltrator, an action orientated spin-off exclusively for iPad. Bringing a majority of the action and polish of Mass Effect to iPad, this one is definitely squeezing a lot out of the tablet’s hardware.
Eternal Legacy HD
Pretty much the iPad’s answer to Final Fantasy, Eternal Legacy offers the same kind of quality that Square’s seminal RPG series is usually associated with. The graphics and outlandish character designs are certainly there, but what really sets Eternal Legacy apart is the sheer scope and sense of scale. Just like a proper console RPG, except a bit more portable.
