There's nothing quite like having a magical abstract entity at your side in battle. The classic concept of the persona in Jungian psychology is that one creates a persona to disguise their negative aspects (or shadow) in social situations. The Persona games take this to its absolute limits, with school kids summoning magical creatures to aid in their battle against the evil shadows and their own personal demons.
