2. Cirque de Soleil
While we're on the theme of questionable performances, Microsoft had committed the same folly some two years earlier at the 2010 E3 conference. Somehow Cirque de Soleil were considered an apt group to represent what the Kinect (then named Natal) was capable of. The fact that they named it a “technology-free event” should have alerted us to how pointless the show was as, aside from the obvious attempt to prevent flash photography, it was also an indicator for how there wasn't a Natal or Xbox 360 in sight. Don't get me wrong, I dig the Cirque de Soleil but, if I really want to see a show like that, I'd buy a ticket for it.
