Sometimes you get mad, sometimes you need to intimidate others, and sometimes you just need to exclaim your dissatisfaction at your current situation. Whatever reason, there are times when a man just needs to shout, and loudly at that. Here are ten of the coolest, weirdest and most memorable shouts in gaming.

10. Legend of Dragoon additions – Legend of Dragoon

Legend of Dragoon received a lot of bad press during its initial release but, in spite of some corny dialogue and clichéd plot elements, it has garnered a loyal and well deserved cult following. Part of this is due to the game’s lovably hammy voice clips. The cut scenes boarder on unbearable, but the battle shouts omitted when the characters complete their combos (known as additions in the game) are classic B-movie all over.

9. Henshin a go go baby! – Viewtiful Joe

Viewtiful Joe, with its unique comic book style and campy dialogue, was an instantly recognisable and highly unique action game. Even today, there still isn’t anything quite like it. Even if the time bending combat and puzzle sections aren’t quite as original as they were back in 2003, Joe’s shouts of “Henshin a go go baby!” are just as weird now as they ever were.

8. Shake it baby! – Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2

The Red Alert games were renowned for their tight and inventive strategies and amazingly cheesy live action cut scenes. The feisty Tanya was the main protagonist for the allies campaign, and nothing takes me back more than her over the top request for us all to “shake it baby!” Nothing like a bit of stilted dialogue to make us remember classic PC gaming at its best.
