The game was produced for the 15th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Players complained of long loading times, poor camera controls, irregular gameplay glitches, lack of control and much more. It also arguably did the whole necrophilia and bestiality thing way before Twilight. So there’s that.
