Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 4 ushers in a new era of visual fidelity to one of the world’s most played games. New levels of detail have been vigorously applied to the game’s art-driven environments via Nanite, Lumen, and Virtual Shadow Maps, demonstrated everywhere from brickwork, stone, and trees, to even every blade of grass. Everything is realistically illuminated via dynamic global lighting too, with sunlight reacting to changes in the environment, and glittery outfits bouncing shards of light off nearby surfaces. The whole thing runs at 60fps too thanks to UE5’s Temporal Super Resolution; a system that allows high-quality visuals at consistently high framerates.
