Some find it all too easy to dismiss Marcus Fenix as a generic, gruff military hero, and on a surface level, there’s some merit to that argument. But across the entire series, he’s exhibited more depth and nuance than some would think. He’s a multi-dimensional character whose raw strength is equaled only by his love and loyalty for his friends and by his relentlessness when he sets his mind on something. Even now, when he’s become more of a background character and a new generation has stepped forward into the limelight, Marcus Fenix steals the show in every scene that stars him.
