What’s this? An old-school 2D platformer Sonic that actually looks fun? As worried as many might be for Sonic Forces, Sonic Mania looks to be Sega finally delivering what fans want. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles essentially investigate a powerful new energy signal while contending with Dr. Robotnik’s baddies along the way. Featuring new and old levels, Sonic Mania has been developed in tandem with hardcore fans like Headcannon and PagodaWest Games who have worked on fan games. Whether it’s what you want from a Sonic game or not, Sonia Mania is out on August 15th for Xbox One, PC, PS4 and Switch.
