Astro Bot Rescue Mission is quite possibly one of the best adverts for what video games that properly leverage VR technology can be capable of doing. At its core, the game is a delightful platformer, defined by tight controls, beautiful and vibrant visuals, and excellent level design that feels almost Nintendo-esque in how it keeps finding interesting new ideas, and how it keeps getting the most out of them. On top of that, this is also a game that shows you just how much different it can make for a game developed by a talented team to be designed around the unique strengths of VR. Exploring every nook and cranny of every level in Astro Bot Rescue Mission invokes a child-like joy the way few other games do. We sincerely hope Sony makes more Astro Bot VR platformers.
