#7. UNCHARTED 4: A THIEF’S END
When Naughty Dog unveiled Uncharted 4 at E3 2014, they made a very bold but very clear statement- this was the last time Nathan Drake was going to star as the protagonist in an Uncharted game. Expectations following the announcement of a new Uncharted game would have been high regardless, but with that, they hit seemingly unreachable highs. Of course, Naughty Dog did as Naughty Dog do, and exceeded those expectations. Uncharted 4 managed to make it out of a gruelling and tumultuous development cycle, and came out the other end an unabashed masterpiece. It took the parkour and action of its predecessors and took them to their zenith, delivering what is probably one of the best, tightest third person shooters on the market, while a greater focus on stealth as an option and with the addition of much larger levels were also significant steps forward. And at the heart of it all was an incredible story with typically loveable characters. All of this coalesced to deliver possibly the best game in the series, and a fittingly excellent sendoff for Nathan Drake.
