Within three days of its release in Japan, the game had sold 2.3 million copies. Sure, you can say Final Fantasy VI was better (and it was). But when it comes to sheer impact, gameplay, memorable characters and perhaps one of the most recognizable protagonist/antagonist pairs of all time, FFVII is hard to beat.
