What could be more fun than a barrel of monkeys? How about a monkey throwing barrels at you, while you are trying to save a princess? Donkey Kong is considered to be the earliest video game that presented a storyline on screen. Jump Man, later known as Mario, must scale a seven-story construction site made of iron girders and ladders while jumping over barrels tossed by Donkey Kong to rescue Princess Daisy. The challenge and timing required to succeed made it an instant classic.
