Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

At the end of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, the question that haunted everyone for decades was finally answered. That is…the question as to how Big Boss could die in Metal Gear 1 during the Outer Heaven uprising but re-emerge in Zanzibar in Metal Gear 2. The answer? Why, of course you’re not playing as Big Boss – you’re the Medic, injured at the end of Ground Zeroes and transformed into Venom Snake to act as a decoy. Ishmael, encountered in the opening hour, is the real Big Boss. Yep, that’s it. It also doesn’t help that several key points like the fate of Liquid Snake and the future Psycho Mantis were explored in the cut Episode 51.
