Final Fantasy XIII was originally planned to be a PS2 game, and it cost a lot of money to make it for the PS2. However when the PS3 came out, the developers saw the potential in the system and of course the money that it could make. And after a lot of delays, trial and error it went to release for the PS3 and Xbox 360, on both the European as well as the American versions, barely three months after the Japanese release.
