The Borealis
This was the mother of all secrets and it made a lot of Half Life and Portal fans get all worked up, because it was almost as if the two worlds were colliding and you could feel it. The Borealis was rumored to be a myth, and many people including all the folks at Black Mesa were certain that it did not exist, but only few knew the truth and one of them was Chell. When Chell stumbles upon the dock it is quite clear that the Borealis was stationed in this chamber for some time, because you could notice the life preserver with the name “Borealis.” The research vessel belonged to Aperture, but mysteriously disappeared. However this is not the last time we will see traces of it, as the ship will played a much larger role in the Half-Life games. It made an appearance in Half-Life 2: Episodes One and Two. It’s rumored to contain a very powerful and a very dangerous secret.
