Battletoads- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The insanely difficult Battletoads was ripped-off by very popular franchise video games: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. If you compare Ninja Turtles and Battletoads the characters look like cousins, or a little more like brothers. The developers had the sense however to not give the characters of Battletoads renaissance names, as well as not have an affinity for pizza.
