Creative Assembly’s Total War series has always been beloved by both critics and the paying public. Its upcoming sequel, Total War: Rome II, which arrives a good 9 years after its predecessor will look at many historical battles and events during the intrigue surrounding the Roman Empire.

One of those is the Battle of Teutoburg Forest, a historical battle that saw Arminius betray the Roman general Varus and strike at the empire via the tribes in the area. This very same battle will be playable in the final game, and the newest trailer showcases the game’s battle features including True Line-of-Sight, the new ambush scenarios and much more.

Total War: Rome II will take a more personal look at the diplomacy and internal power struggles plaguing the Roman Empire at the time, besides implementing new mechanics for deciding the flow of battle. It will release this October for PC and be published by Sega for the platform.
