Of the many first-party titles Microsoft has scheduled for release in 2024, Towerborne might not be the most high-profile, but it’s certainly a game that many have had their eye on. Now, we know exactly when to expect Stoic Studio’s sidescrolling co-op action-adventure game.
Announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live, it’s been confirmed that Towerborne will be releasing on September 10, under a month from now- though it will be doing so as an early access title. The game’s full release has been delayed into 2025, with a specific launch date currently unknown.
“Developer Stoic has utilized Early Access well when developing previous games by allowing the community of players help shape and define the final product, and the developer is looking to replicate that success with Towerborne,” Microsoft wrote in a press release. “Microsoft is fully on board with this approach, and is supportive of allowing Stoic to develop in the ways that will lead to the best game.”
Microsoft is set to reveal more details and gameplay for Towerborne as part of its Gamescom streams in the coming days, so stay tuned.
Towerborne is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
