Ubi gives us info on Assassin’s Creed: Ascendance

Ubisoft have sent out a mail, detailing their animated short story in build up for their upcoming game, Brotherhood, Ascendance. The first thing they is that the Assassin’s Creed franchise has now gloabally sold 19 million units- okay, that’s a lot.

Ubi say Ascendance will close the interim between AC2 and Brotherhood and how Ezio is trying to (SPOILER) take the papal throne away from the Borgia family. (SPOILERS END).

Here’s some information on the short movie:

“Assassin’s Creed Ascendance is a short animated story developed by Ubisoft Montreal. It bridges the narrative gap between Assassin’s Creed II and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Assassin’s Creed Ascendance follows Assassin Ezio Auditore as he struggles to remove the treacherous Borgia family from their papal throne. Ezio will learn the brutal truth behind Ceasare Borgia’s rise to power to control Italy. Assassin’s Creed Ascendance will be available on PlayStation^®Store, Xbox LIVE^® for the Xbox 360^®, and other digital channels.

The rich universe of the Assassin’s Creed franchise allows artists from other media to create extensions of the original Assassin’s Creed storyline beyond video games. In addition to Assassin’s Creed Ascendance, fans will be able to immerse themselves even further into the Assassin’s Creed world with the release of an Assassin’s Creed comic book series, figurines and the recently launched Assassin’s Creed Project Legacy Facebook^® game.

– Assassin’s Creed The Fall comic book series, published by DC Comics, is a story illustrated and written in English by award-winning artists Cameron Stewart and Karl Kerschl. The first of three issues will be released in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

– Assassin’s Creed Aquilus, published by les Deux Royaumes, is the second comic book illustrated by Defali and written in French by Corbeyrand. The comic book will be available in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Quebec.

– A new limited edition statue of Assassin’s Creed Master Assassin Ezio Auditore Da Firenze will be available in Europe and Australia. A variety of Assassin’s Creed Ezio collectible figurines will also be available worldwide via online retailers.

– The Assassin’s Creed Project Legacy game on Facebook^® platform is a social role-playing game that serves as the companion to Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.”
