A focus on co-op

Get your co-op on boys and girls

Drake’s Deception will follow Drake and Sully as they travel around the world. Whilst film lovers may see this as the set up for a cheesy buddy movie, us gamers can see only one thing from this description: Co-op. Two man adventures were designed entirely for awesome co-op action, and Uncharted 3 seems to be no exception. Imagine all the awesome set-pieces from Uncharted 2’s story, but with a friend. The future does look bright indeed.

3D support

Until we can get 3D images to you, you'll just have to use your imagination

Uncharted 2 is one of the best looking games ever made. This is a fact. Few games have yet surpassed Among Thieves’ visual prowess, but many have gone the step further by adding stereoscopic 3D support. Now it is Uncharted’s turn to reply to these competitors with its own take on 3D. If Naughty Dog can get it right and produce fantastic 3D effects without any visual artefacts or deterioration, expect multiple eye orgasms all around.

More challenging AI

Your foes will hunt you down with more efficiency than ever

The previous two Uncharted games provided a good level of challenge but, when it comes to the games’ enemies, it has usually been a case of quantity over quality. With Uncharted 3, this will not be the case. Improved enemy AI will see Drake’s foes more co-ordinated than ever, now forming squads and dividing and conquering areas of the map in order to take him down. Now players will have to deal with real tactics and strategies, rather than the standard enemy spam.

Split-screen support

I know this list is meant to be about facts, but this one seems so probable that I couldn’t help but include it. Leaked video footage of Uncharted 3 has shown, what looks like, split-screen gameplay. Considering the game’s potential focus on co-op, this is some of the best news I’ve had all year. I beat the split-screen stick a lot, and it’s nice to see some developers coming to their senses regarding the matter. Let’s just hope that all multiplayer modes support split-screen.
