Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Single Player DLC Will ‘Take A Lot From Left Behind’

Don't get too excited yet, it isn't borrowing story from Left Behind, just the approach.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

Naughty Dog is apparently pulling out all the stops when it comes to the upcoming release of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Not only will this title be the first of the series to be on the current generation consoles, but it will also be the first in the series to have single player DLC. The developer says one of the reasons it is so confident in releasing this DLC is because of the success of the Left Behind DLC for the Last of Us.

One of the things that was divulged in a recent interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine UK, Uncharted 4 writer and studio veteran Josh Scherr explained the experience of making the DLC for The Last of Us gave the team confidence to do the same kind of thing for the lastest and possibly final Uncharted game. In the interview, Scherr says that it “was really just like making a big game on a small scale, though with the freedom to take a couple of risks along the way.”

The developer explained they actually took quite a few liberties with the way they made the extra content in Left Behind and they feel like they’re going to be extra confident when it comes to making this single player DLC for Uncharted 4. Considering they’ve never tried this before for this series, it does indeed take a bit of bravery to kick it off on the PS4. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is getting an beta version in December and then will officially release on March 18, 2016.
