Developer Parallel Studio and publisher Quantic Dream have relased a new trailer for upcoming ocean exploration game Under the Waves. The trailer shows off a bit of gameplay as well as an August 29 release date, and you can check it out below.

Under the Waves was first unveiled back in August last year. It will feature a sci-fi story that takes place in a futuristic version of the 1970s. Players are put into the shoes of professional diver Stan, who is trying to overcome a recent tragedy in his life.

In the past, Quantic Dream has described the game as a love letter to the ocean. Players will be able to explore its underwater setting with cinematic visuals and storytelling.

Gameplay will revolve around collecting materials to craft equipment, which will in turn allow Stan to navigate further into the depths of the game’s ocean. The only company Stan will have in his journey is his own mind.

Under the Waves is slated for release on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on August 29.
