See Microsoft, we told you this name would come and bite you in the ass. When you already have an Xbox 1 (or at least, a console that is referred to as the Xbox One very commonly), naming your new console Xbox One is a stupid, stupid idea. Those in the know can differentiate, and come up with new nomenclature- but for the laymen? Why, they are one uninformed ‘Xbox 1’ Google search away from getting the wrong idea entirely.
And this is exactly what has happened with US retailer CVS. The pharmacy giant apparently sells video games too (or at least, Xbox Live and PSN cards, which is the real news here, in my opinion), and for Black Friday, they put out an ad to highlight some of their best deals. The issue? They put an image of the Xbox 1 in their ad for deals on Xbox One.
I mean, yeah, they should have done their homework better, and stuff, but jeez. Microsoft. A less dumb name next time, please.
