One of the goals for Valkyria Chronicles 4 was stated to be to return to the series’ roots. After the spin-off Valkyria Revolution did not perform very well either critically or commercially, fans have been excited to learn that the upcoming entry into the series will be similar to the original game. Now, some new gameplay videos have surfaced from the Taipei Game Show in Taiwan and it’s clear that the game will be very familiar to the series’ fans.

The two videos below showcase the game’s bright visuals and the orchestral music is certainly familiar while still managing to seem fresh. You can also see the main characters in action in these videos.

With the complex strategic elements along with the visual style of the original game, the latest entry in the series is sure to please long-time fans. Valkyria Chronicles 4 is set to release for the PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in North America and Europe sometime in 2018. In Japan, the game will release for the PS4 on March 21, 2018 and will release for the Switch some time in the summer. You can check out the videos below.
