Valve’s E3 surprise is Source Engine 2?

Posted By | On 08th, Jun. 2010

It seems that ever since Valve cancelled it’s E3 event, the internet is getting hit by more and more rumours. First, an image which was supposedly from Half Life 2: Episode 3 popped out of nowhere. Gabe Newell himself rubbished it and stated that the image was a fake. Now according to a source the new rumour is about Valve showing off a brand new version of their engine: Source Engine 2. The insider claims that Valve will be demonstrating Half Life 3 on it. Now that is very much possible since Valve have always demonstrated the previous games in the franchise on newer versions of the engine.

Having said that take this with a grain of salt since Gabe Newell is now confirmed to be not attending the E3 event. One interesting point is that Valve’s E3 surprise will not take place before Sony’s or Microsoft’s conferences, so we are pretty sure that the event will take place on June 16th.

Stay tuned with GamingBolt as we will be present at Los Angeles covering all things Valve and Half Life.
