Valve: Linux version of Steam and Source engine coming in 2013

Posted By | On 04th, Jun. 2012

Remember how Valve were hiring a bunch of engineers for a Linux project? It’s finally come to frutition. Yes, Linux owners will be pleased to hear that Steam – Valve’s digital distribution service – is headed to the free operating system, and there’s one more news. Source Engine is being ported to the OS as well.

Steam on Linux will be available in 2013. It will be interesting to see how Valve goes about all this, but we do not have a lot of details except this bit of news. Valve probably will be at E3 just like last year when they announced Portal 2 on Sony’s E3 stage, it remains to be seen if they do the same for Half — OH THIS ISN’T GOING TO HAPPEN.
