The Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena
Though he indicated as much back in July, Vin Diesel recently spoke to ScreenCrush to confirm that he “reassembled” Starbreeze into Tigon Studios, which had original developed The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay (easily one of the most acclaimed movie franchise games ever) to work on the third Riddick title.

Speaking to IGN back in July about the same, Diesel indicated that, “There’s this huge concept [behind the game] which is more of a MMO game that would be centered around people being able to play mercs and it’s basically the merc trade. There’s a very cool game concept behind that. So we got our guys in Sweden that were part of Starbreeze and we’re pulling them back together to make the next Riddick game that we’re really excited about.”

Along with Escape from Butcher Bay, Tigon also worked on Assault on Dark Athena. Currently, a third film in the franchise, titled Riddick, has been released.
