WARDOGS

WARDOGS developer Bulkhead Studios has just released a video celebrating a successful closed and open beta while also outlining a very stern stance on cheating in the game.

The betas unfortunately saw a few cheaters, with an amusing clip of a streamer reporting one (and receiving a response from the team in the video). The folks over at Bulkhead watched the individuals in question to better identify what the cheaters were doing before banning them, which gives us confidence that it’s actively trying to counter a problem that’s all too common in most multiplayer titles. The studio is going a step further by recruiting players into the fight, encouraging them to report cheaters as soon as they’re encountered so it can swoop down to get them off the battlefield as soon as possible.

The team might even enforce mandatory anti-cheating software on accounts of those suspected of associating with known cheaters, a move that it acknowledges as harsh, but defends as a necessary evil to discourage the practice altogether. It’s going to be interesting to see this battle unfold, and we’re sure it’s going to be just as intense as the ones that the game presents to us on our screens.

WARDOGS enters early access for PC on September 10th. Head here for more details on why you shouldn’t opt in.
